If you are new to water sports, the best place for you to start would be at the water ski tubes. This fun ride is the best place for getting a feel of riding the waters at high speed. It is advisable for all beginners to get familiar with water ski tubes before venturing into the other more adventurous rides. Water ski tubes should be taken as seriously as it form part of your water skiing equipment.

Water ski tubes are inflatable tubes filled with air. Originally circular in shape, today they are available in a variant of shapes depending on the adventure style you prefer. A water tube ride follows the same basic principle of water skiing and wake boarding i.e.it is tied to the rear of a boat and is towed at high speed boat all across the waters.

Unlike any other sports ride, you do not need to have a special coaching for attempting these rides. Water ski tubes are available in different sizes, shapes and colors. The larger size tubes have a seating capacity meant for 8 people. As such unlike the other rides, a group of friends or a family can have the pleasure of riding together in a single tube. The larger rafts provide sufficient number of handles for grabbing on but ensure that the number of people should not exceed half the number of handles available. If you prefer to go at it in a single tube, you can still enjoy the company of your friends in the other tubes by being towed together by a common boat.

In spite of the security provided by the raft shape, you can expect to hit the waters if you do not hold on tight. Holding on to the precious handles is the only way to ensure you remain in the raft till the end of the ride.

For the more adventurous riders, the water tubes can be made to jump on wakes as well. Water tubes are also designed to go airborne as well for a short while during a high speed ride. Another seemingly simple trick for novices to try is the barrel roll. As the name suggests you flip your ski tube over, doing a complete turn in the water and coming back on the surface as you complete the roll. There are many other tricks that will take some time and practice to master. A word of advice to all beginners – Do not get carried away by the thrill of the moment and ensure that you observe basic safety precautions.
