Does Music Cast Any Beneficial Influence On Us
These days’ people think music to be food for soul; however, this is not true in all instances. Music has grown into a craze than just leisure. People collect all the essentials including a duet piano bench or the artist piano bench even before they learn how to play the instrument. Moreover, music can’t just be food for the soul. Intoxication or infatuation can rightly define the desire for music.
Music can wreak havoc with your soul like the way smoking and drinking destroys your body. These are the pleasures that are not needed, whereas we feel their need in our life. People who think music is food for the soul do not realize how wrong a comparison they are doing. Food is a substance that has to be consumed to maintain life and give energy for the development of the body. If we conclude music on this criterion, then first of all music is no material thing. Moreover, it can’t be consumed, drunk or taken into the soul, so it can’t fulfill this aspect as well. Music simply gives rise to electric signals in our ears that are processed by the brain. The most important part is that food gives energy and enhances development, whereas music has never been proven to nourish any life or soul. Therefore, music fails to fulfill any of the conditions that food does.
While comparing music with intoxication, you will find that it overpowers the mind or emotion the same way any drug does. In this context, anything that provokes our emotions uncontrollably is an intoxicant. Additionally, we even get a desire for music just like an addict have for drugs. No one can deny this fact that music can explode our thoughts and emotions. This shows that music is certainly not a food for the soul, but it’s rather an intoxication of our souls.
We all believe that life without food is not possible but a soul can definitely exist without music. There are several people in this world that has never had a taste of music but their lives are only fine like any other individual. Moreover, food is a necessity that is needed after constant intervals, whereas the craving for music is free from the limitations of time which reminds you of a smoker or an alcoholic who can have the craving for his addiction anytime.
Moreover, you will find that a routine listener of music is forbidden from listening to music for one day becomes irritated. He/she will have this sudden urge to listen to music like a smoker gets a desire to smoke. It’s even worth noting that a first time listener will merely have any interest in the music and may feel bored as he/she has no taste for it just like a first time drinker. There have been some theories stating the benefits of music and claiming it to be food for the soul; but, they still lack some substantial evidence. Until then, it’s wise to stay away from this addiction.
