In our planet, there exists many different kinds of animals Some of them are cats, dogs, birds, pigs, horses plus many, many more. There are just too many of them to put in this article. Each animal is popular in their own way. Animals are used as a character in many cartoons. Some animals also have some religious relevance to some religions. There are also famous animal stars such as “Lassie” and “Orangey”.

In this short article we shall talk about the popularity of cats across the world.

The cat (felis catus) is a little domesticated mammal that is valued by people because they give companionship. They are also valued for their ability to hunt many household pests due to their adaptability, rapid breeding rate, and predatory instincts which makes them very effective hunters. These felines are currently the most popular pet in the world. They can be found almost everywhere in the world. At approximately 9,500 years, cats and humans have been associated with each other.

These days, cats are very popular, especially with today’s mass media technology. There were many “cat actors” around. There was also a musical and it’s film adaptation that is named “Cats”. Lastly, there exists many cartoon characters that are based on cats. Who hasn’t heard of Garfield, Puss in Boots, and Meowth? There are too many cartoon characters that are based on cats, which is a testament of their popularity. Some kids even dress up as a cat or a cat cartoon character during Halloweens. I often see during the Halloween children dressed as Garfield or wearing a Puss in Boots Costume. They even “meow” while wearing their Garfield or Puss in Boots Costume to make their costume more convincing.

However, cats also have some rivals in their rise in popularity. Who else? Dogs! These dogs or canines are also popular nowadays. What the cats have in terms of popularity, it is sure that the dogs also have whatever it is. Some people even say that dogs are more popular than cats! But many people likes cats better than dogs. There are many reasons, but maybe one of them is that cats are naturally cute and gentle, unlike some, but not all, dogs. But lets just let the dog lovers be. Always keep in mind that all are entitled to their own opinion.

The feline popularity, especially over the mass media, is continuously growing each day. Because of a cats charm and cuteness, more people are starting to like them. You gotta hand it to the feline species! They are one of the most popular animals in the planet, if not the most. Doesn’t that make you cat lovers happy?
